May 8th - Pixel art experiments

Let's take a look some of the pixel art assets and talk about them a little bit.

First let's see a failed experiment for a mech. This was a test for deciding the usage of outlines in sprites. I didn't really liked how it's turned out and also the colors are horrible to.

After this i did a the same test with some environment. Same result, the one without outline looks better.

    

So at the next step i tried out some other mech designs without outline. It's better than the firs but still not satisfied with it, just looks a little too boring. (It also has some basic animation)


After looking up some mech pixel art inspiration on google i came up with a new direction, trying out a more segmented, more ergonomic design, with more understandable shading.


I kind of happy with this direction, in the next days i try to experiment more with environments and UI designs so my next post's will be about that.
